His first published novel, Rhymes with Fool, is about a former investigative journalist, Barry Pool, who is asked to find the missing son of a prominent U.S. senate candidate. He decides to take the job for the money, but after uncovering a neo-Nazi conspiracy and being sucked into a vortex of racial tension and high-stakes politics, he starts to have second thoughts.
