Botanical Illustrations

buchanancenter

George Olson of Woodhull is an Illinois botanical artist who specializes in American prairie plant life. His ink drawings, pencil drawings, and watercolors are well known around this area, and we have seven matted pieces available for sale in our gift shop ranging in price from $100 to $300 each. All proceeds from the sale of these original works fund BCA programming. We also carry the book, The Elemental Prairie – Sixty Tallgrass Plants ($34.95), illustrated by Olson with a written essay “The Running Country” by John Madson. Madson’s essay and Olson’s illustrations are the perfect pairing.
